Described by Gramophone as ‘an act of warmth and sincerity rather than mere cleverness or presumption’, Double Dream is a concert which both surprises and delights.

For pianists Misha Alperin and Mikhail Rudy, the music of Bach, Mozart, Debussy, Janáèek, Scriabin and Schumann represents a starting rather than an end point. Double Dream is their concert for two pianos, consisting of partly written and party improvised ‘recompositions’, accompanied by a live video feed that highlights their playful interactions.

Mikhail Rudy has won the hearts of audiences all over the world with his profound musicality and virtuosity. He has received countless awards including the Grand Prix Liszt in Budapest and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.

Celebrated jazz pianist Mikhail “Misha” Alperin was born in the Ukraine and grew up in Moldavia, where he was classically trained. He has released several acclaimed works on ECM Records.

A grand tribute to music making, an improvisation, a drama, a dream; excuse me, a DOUBLE DREAM. The audience obviously enjoyed the performance every bit as much as Rudy and Alperin. Bravo and thank you for the triple encore

Glad to be the first to leave a comment. Thoroughly enjoyed the witty interaction between Mikhail and Misha at the ivories. Their work just shows how creative modern-day pianists can be. I should start trying to play like them:) Brava, guys!
