Quirky Parisian chanteuse Camille Dalmais is one of the hottest talents to have emerged from the ‘new French chanson’ scene. Her music is a sexy pop folk blend of diverse vocal stylings and driving rhythms, fuelled by a love of bossa nova, 70s soul and 60s folk.

Camille’s 2005 release Le Fil commanded worldwide attention. Following its release, she won two Victoires (French equivalent of the Grammy Awards®) for Best New Album and Best Live Performer.

As a member of the acclaimed Nouvelle Vague, Camille sang and performed Bossa nova-influenced covers of new wave and post-punk classics. It is, however, with her solo projects that her full creative force is felt.

On her latest album Music Hole she creates unique rhythms using African and American influenced a cappellas and body percussion, delivering her songs with energy, passion and an enigmatic French twist.

While likened to Björk, Kate Bush and Laurie Anderson, she stakes out a stylistic ground quite her own. Camille’s live shows are a tour de force of sophisticated song-writing and stunning vocals, imbued with her natural charisma.

Please note there is no support act for this event.

Camille is also playing a headline show at Beck's Festival Bar, for info on this night click here.

I'm still in complete awe of this amazing songstress after seeing her at the City Recital Hall on Friday. Her performance was quirky and entertaining, and she has such an amazing connection with the audience. Three encores just shows you how amazingly captivated everyone was, not to mention everyones smiles leaving the show.
